The Nokta Legend has arrived!
I am happy to report that the Nokta Legend I purchased from Ebay has arrived. It was in its original box, all manuals are present, all of the items that should be in the Pro Pack are there and the small 6 inch coil looks to have never been used!
I am incredibly happy with the purchase, not only because of the price, it is in excellent condition and all present but also because this means I now have the main tool I need for metal detecting and I am ever closer to my first time out in the wilds.
I am not sure if the seller wanted to make extra sure there was not risk of it getting wet while in transit or if they just had a lot of spare tape, either way, it was well sealed and took a few minutes to get into it all.
This is what was inside! I am so excited. I was going to take a series of pictures like I did with the accessories package, however, when I opened the box every individual item within the box was wrapped in bubble wrap and taped in a similar way to the box itself.
I went ahead and checked everything was okay, working and present, it took quite a while, and several trips to the wheelie bin. So, on this occasion I do not have any unboxing pictures. I will upload a few pictures of the detector and other items over the next day or two and add them to this post, with commentary of course.
Once I connected everything together and turned it on, it all worked as it should, quite excited to get out there and give it a go.
The Nokta LG15 looks as though it has never been used, there are a few minor marks on the bottom of the coil protector but these look more like they are just from it being slid around or stored.
I understand people prefer the larger coils because they offer better depth and cover a larger area per sweep, but I cannot help but feel this little coil would be fantastic among stubble on a field or maybe even between some large rocks on the beach.
Either way I am very glad to have this little coil, especially when I saw that it is seem to be in as-new condition.
And here is the Nokta LG28, this 11 inch coil certainly seems to have been the preffered coil of the previous owner. I know that when the Gen2 Legend came out they switched to an eliptical coil (the LG30 I think was the new standard coil), but before I even consider "updating" my Gen1 to Gen2 specs I will certainly use this coil in different environments as I have no doubt it will work perfectly fine and prove to me that there is little-to-no need for me to change to the LG30.
This coil has definite signs of use on it but after a quick test with a 20p coin I had in my pocket seems to work just fine. The connection wire and the connector itself all seem to be in perfectly good order with no signs of damage or wear and the marks on the bottom are only on the coil cover and not the coil itself, so, nothing to be concerned about there!
And here we have the wireless, low latency headphones, the Cap and the spare battery and charger. All of these were part of the pro pack, along with a couple of other cables for charging the headphones and the Legend itself.
It was actually really nice to receive a used item from eBay that had all of the original packing as well as the original manuals and even the purchase order! The seller will certainly be getting glowing feedback from me once I have had it out in the field and seen that everything is working properly. But for now I am more than happy with all of my purchases, well, apart from the "spade" but lesson learned there.
That is it for now, when I have some better pictures of it all setup and in use I will upload those too.
Until next time, peace!
