I have been invited to a group detecting day !!!

Sunday 23rd March, my first proper day!

 

I have been invited to join a group detecting day this Sunday, the 23rd of March 2025. I am looking forward to getting a proper day of detecting in. This will be my first day and fortunately I will be surrounded by people with more experience and knowledge than myself, so, I will hopefully learn a thing or two. 

Working on the assumption I will find ~something~ I will create a gallery on here and share pictures of my finds and, if anyone is willing to help me out, I will get some pictures of myself in the thick of the action.

 I have done some research into equipment for me to record my detecting sessions and I think I have settled on a DJI Osmo Action. These seem to have very good reviews all round and are coming in cheaper than a GoPro equivalent.

I will be able to give better opinions on the equipment I have purchased once I get to use it properly, I am sure it will all do what it was intended to but I will give my personal feedback on it all. It will be interesting to see how well I got on with the Nokta Legend with the standard length stem and shafts, I am fairly tall and I have noticed that you can purchase extended shafts for the Legend. Time will tell whether or not I need that.

Unfortunately the person who invited me on the dig ended up having to work, so, I was unable to attend.
